With submissions closed we are delighted to share our selection committee members who have already dived into applications to choose the best ones to be presented at Kids Kino Industry forum (28.09-1.10.2021).

This year we accepted the submissions for the following sections:

Our selection committee members

The projects submitted to Kids Kino Industry will be carefully chosen by our KKI team as well as Polish and international industry experts Alicja Grawon-Jaksik, President of the Board of Polish Producers Alliance (KIPA) and Petri Kemppinen, Consultant & Founder of P1 Kemppinen (our KKI Talks participants may know Petri, who moderated one of our KKI Talks sessions earlier this year), Debbie Macdonald, Children’s Media Consultant & Content Creator and Sandra Le Blanc-Marissal, Commissioning Editor at Children & Youth Entertainment, NDR.

Sandra Le Blanc-Marissal

Sandra Le Blanc-Marissal

Commissioning Editor at Children & Youth Entertainment, NDR

After obtaining a Master of Arts degree in Radio/TV/Film from California State University Northridge, Sandra Le Blanc-Marissal started working as Junior Producer for the German version of Sesame Street, then produced by Studio Hamburg Productions.

In 1998, she moved to the editorial side of production and became a Commissioning Editor at NDR broadcasting, Youth & Family Entertainment. She has developed and produced programs from Sesame Street to the Peppercorns and many international TV series (among them Blue Water High, Emma’s Chatroom (with Southern Star, Australia) and most recently Heirs of the Night (with partners in the Netherlands, Norway and Belgium).

A five year hiatus from 2005 to 2010 took her to Singapore, where she continued to work as a freelance producer for NDR – and as a certified museum docent at the Asian Civilizations and the Peranakan Museum.

Upon returning to Hamburg, Germany, she became deputy head of department (Children & Youth), has continued to produce national and international live action series and been invited as jury member to, among others, the Prix Jeunesse, Der besondere Kinderfilm and Formate aus Thüringen.

Alicja Grawon-Jaksik

Alicja Grawon-Jaksik

President of the Board of Polish Producers Alliance (KIPA)

Associate Producer, Production and Finance Consultant, specialised in legal and business issues related to the activity of entrepreneurs in the audiovisual and creative sectors (e.g.: “The Adventures of the Mathematician”, “Lamb”, “Odwilż”, “Warszawianka”).

Former Managing Director of Polish Producers Alliance, 2013-2017. Representative of the Minister of Culture on the EU Media Program Committee in Brussels, 2011-2013. Arbitrator of the Court of Arbitration of the Audio-visual Market (SARA) in Warsaw, 2018.

She earned her degree in Film Production from the Faculty of Radio and Television, University of Silesia in Katowice and she is a Ph.D. graduate at the SWPS University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Warsaw. She also attended national certified training for Board of Directors at Ministry of Treasury. Former member of Digitization Council at Ministry of Digitization, 2016-2018.

Debbie Macdonald

Debbie Macdonald

Children’s Media Consultant & Content Creator

Debbie Macdonald is a highly experienced senior media executive, with 30 years in the international media industry. Having held senior commissioning positions within the broadcast sector, she now specializes in children’s and family content across the age groups in animation, live action, factual and entertainment.

Vast experience in Original Series Production taking series from concept stage through to final delivery including script development, script writing, script editing, with many executive producer credits across award winning series including, most notably, Peppa Pig.

An International writer, Debbie has written on many shows and has taken on the Head Writer role on series in China and Korea. A content creator, she has co-created 2 series and been awarded a commission in the UK.

Now a sought-after media consultant, working internationally with a broad range of companies around the globe including China, Korea and Russia.

Petri Kemppinen

Petri Kemppinen

Consultant & Founder of P1 Kemppinen

Petri Kemppinen is an independent film and TV consultant, working internationally with financing and development, policies and training. He founded P1 Kemppinen in early 2020, after close to 30 years of experience in journalism, publishing and the audiovisual sector.

Through P1 Kemppinen he consults on policies, evaluates content and trains professionals. Prior to establishing his own company, he worked from 2013 to 2019 as CEO of the pan-Nordic funding body Nordisk Film & TV Fond in Oslo.

As an expert of financing and development he has worked for European audiovisual training organizations like EAVE, European Genre Forum, Sources and CEE Animation Workshop. He has also given lectures for the department of Film and Television at the Aalto University.

He has an MA in Communication Studies from University of Helsinki, with minors in Sociology, Statistics and Development studies.

His professional background is in culture journalism at Helsingin Sanomat newspaper (1988-1995) and publishing (Hard & Pet) before start of his film and television career at YLE in the mid-1990s. He served later at the Finnish Film Foundation (2005-2013), before joining Nordisk Film & TV Fond.

He has been the Finnish member of Eurimages’ (the pan-European film financing body of Council of Europe) Board of Management 2006-2013.

His trustee positions include being a board member at the Swedish Film Institute (since 2019) and European Women´s Audiovisual Network (since 2020). He is also a member of the European Film Academy.
