Maciej Jakubczyk, Head of Kids Kino International Film Festival and Kids Kino Industry, feels privileged to be elected as new board member of ECFA (European Children’s Film Association), Europe’s biggest networking platform for children’s cinema, young audience content and media education.
New board members
Maciej Jakubczyk (Poland, Kids Kino IFF) and Marjo Kovanen (Finland, Koulukino) have been elected by the ECFA members and will from now on serve on the organisation’s board committee. Under the presidency of Margret Albers, seven board members – representing some of the biggest and most active children’s film institutions and organisations in Europe – are serving a maximum six years duty.

Maciej is the Head of Education Department of the New Horizons Association, Kids Kino International Film Festival and Kids Kino Industry and Kids Kino Lab (industry parts of Kids Kino IFF).
Maciej is a board member of New Horizons Association responsible for distribution, festival, education and industry projects towards young audience.
In recent years, Maciej was an expert for the Polish Film Institute, Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and Europa Cinemas.
Founded in 1988, ECFA is the organisation for all who are interested in high quality films for children and young people: film-makers, producers, promoters, distributors, exhibitors, TV-programmers, festival organisers and film educators etc.
ECFA has almost 150 members comprised of companies and organisations from 41 different countries.

The election took place on 30 May during ECFA’s online Annual General Meeting.
