comKids and BrLab, initiatives that have been operating for more than ten years in promoting and strengthening the Latin American audiovisual market, have joined together in a partnership through the comKids + BrLab Award for projects under development aimed at young audiences. The award gathers incentives, consultancies and visibility actions that can include up to seven projects.

The call for entries is open from May 4th to June 14th, through the online registration form available here.

Win your place at Kids Kino Industry

The winners will be able to guarantee seats at festivals such as the Schlingel Film Festival 2021, in Germany, and Ojo de Pescado, in Chile, in addition to participating in events such as the 11th BrLab – Development of Audiovisual Projects, Kids Kino Industry 2021, in Poland, and M:brane Forum 2022, based in Sweden. Participants also compete for an international consultancy in two phases and, in the case of Brazilian projects, an incentive prize in the amount of five thousand reais. All winners will have visibility and exposure on the networks and platforms comKids and BrLab.

Projects in the series, webseries, telefilm or feature film formats, in animation and/or live action, fiction and/or nonfiction can be registered, provided that they are intended for the public from 3 to 15 years old, or for the whole family. To participate, interested parties must submit a short synopsis, argument and presentation of characters, in addition to documents such as an action/feasibility plan and the registration of the work with the national authorities.

The winners will be announced during the Festival comKids Prix Jeunesse Iberoamericano in a live event held on August 10th 2021, after being scrutinized by a qualified international jury.

Only projects by Latin America production companies or channels will be awarded. The projects must be in the development stage, be new and cannot have been carried out in previous seasons. Each producer can submit a single project.

School projects will not be accepted, as well as projects that violate the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, or that contain advertising or promote the consumption of products, in addition to political propaganda.

About BrLab

Project developed by Klaxon Cultura Audiovisual, BrLab is an annual event for future Latin American and European films and for the training of audiovisual professionals from different countries through various activities and workshops. Currently, it is the only market event in Brazil that receives projects from all over Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula (and Italy).

The eleventh edition of BrLab will take place from October 1st to 15th 2021 and registration is open through the website www.brlab.com.br until May 21st. This year there will be a vacancy for the children’s and youth project to be chosen through the comKids + BrLab Award and, for future editions, the intention is to increase the number of works targeted at this audience.
