The key points of the 2020 Kids Kino Industry programme are the pitching sessions and One-To-One Meetings. This year, 27 film projects and series for children and teenagers from all over the world have qualified for the event, as well as 11 projects participating in the Kids Kino.Lab development workshops (recruitment for the next edition lasts until 23 October). We strongly encourage you to check all the project here and watch the video pitchings, which you can find in the video pitching library. All the pitchings can be found on the Meeting Mojo platform.
Apart from the pitchings, there are masterclasses, workshops and discussion panels waiting for you as well as marketing and screenwriting consultations.
Kids Kino Industry (former Warsaw Kids Film Forum) is an international forum organized in Poland devoted entirely to the topic of co-productions of films and TV series for young audience. We believe that the 4th edition of KKI will provide you with a great opportunity to explore new and inspiring projects, meet the people behind them and increase your knowledge on a constantly developing market of productions for kids and young audience. The fact that this year event has been organized online allowed us to invite the guests who otherwise wouldn’t be able to join us during a stationery edition.
INSPIRATION DAY 1
We kick off the Kids Kino Industry with a panel Connect and Meet The Commissioners. This panel gives you the opportunity to participate in the intimate and interactive 30-minute group sessions with influential content and streaming executives from such companies as Netflix or ViacomCBS. This webinar will provide a space to discuss programming needs, structure and priorities, as well as a Q&A session with industry leaders to help you tailor your project to the modern market.
Next, we dive into world of creating the best Pitch Bible. The “Building a Bible” masterclass will develop and refresh your skills on how to present your project for an international market.
During the first day the distributors, sales agents, festivals are invited to join the market presentation. This year, for the second time, we will host a market presentation. The producers of the upcoming Polish feature film “Skarbek” will present the first details about the film, which is now in postproduction.
Other participants are invited to take part in the Consultants’ Tables. So if you have an idea or a project you would like to consult, we strongly encourage you to check our consultants and book a meeting with them.
The first day will end with the networking event Producer Meets Producer. If you are looking for a partner or you are lacking the opportunity for the networking, you shouldn’t missed this one.
INSPIRATIONAL DAY II
The second day will be dedicated to Markets, Festivals, Conferences and Labs For Kids Content. The panel “Going International: Markets, Festivals, Conferences and Labs For Kids Content” is a great opportunity to meet the representatives of leading events, such as Animation Production Days, Children’s Media Conference, M:brane, KIDS Regio, Cinekid IFF, CEE Animation and Ventana Sur.
For writers, directors and producers, there is the workshop “How To Get Back On Track With Your Story” with Paul Tyler.
The second day brings the participants another chance to consult the project or idea with our consultants.
The access to the video pitching library is open during the whole event, so the second day is also perfect to check the projects selected to this year’s Kids Kino Industry.
INSPIRATIONAL DAY III
The third day will be devoted to One-To-One Meetings, which are the key point of our event. Once you finished your meetings, there is a masterclass “Knowing your Film from the Inside Out – Become the Ultimate Ambassador!“ waiting for you, led by Alison Norrington and Fulko Kuindersma. During the combined lecture and Q&A, which will include the examples of two productions, scriptwriters and producers will be able to see how the knowledge of the audience behaviour towards different genres influences the choice of distribution strategy, and they will also learn more about how to become an ambassador for their project.
Registered attendees are invited to submit a short overview (400 words max) of one of their projects that we will try to implement during the Q&A. Deadline for submission is 28.09. 12 PM. The overview should be send to: email@example.com.
The day will end with a Co-Production Speed Dating. These individual meetings are perfect for producers looking for a co-producer.
INSPIRATIONAL DAY IV
The last day of the forum is devoted to masterclasses and One-To-One Meetings.
Making films for children is often very rewarding and fulfilling, according to Frederike Migom. The ambitious and award-winning Belgian film director, writer and actor will lead the creative masterclass entitled “My First Movie – How to Develop a Story for a Children’s Audience”, as she talks about her passion for making films relevant to young audiences and guides you through the process of making her first feature Binti.
During the second masterclass entitled “Comic Book Storytelling” Tomasz Samojlik, scientist, writer and author of several graphic novels, will guide you through the dangerous and risky process of creating your own comic book (and, hopefully, adapting it for the small or big screen).
The four day event will end with the Awards Ceremony and online party.
Thanks to our partners: Audiovisual Technology Center (CeTA), European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs (EAVE), M:brane, Pop Up Residency and Kids Kino.Lab there are many awards waiting for our pitching teams. Fingers crossed for the future success of their projects!
